 | There
are a variety of options of things to see and do, both on the farm and out and about
locally.
Swimming
pool

The swimming pool is normally open from May to September to resident
holiday makers & until
the end of October if we have demand.
The
pool
measures 10m x 5m with Roman end steps, that are ideal for the youngest
of children to paddle from. In the
shallows it
is one metre deep, which is enough for a 5 year old to touch the bottom. It
drops down to two meters in the deep end for adults to enjoy diving in
to. The water
is heated to 24° so it can be used all the season. There is underwater
lighting for the pleasures of night swimming.
The area around the pool is paved, grassed, and there is a wooden
terrace area. There are sun loungers, chairs & tables for relaxing
and soaking up the sun. The playpen is kept in this area too so that
the parents
of toddlers can
relax.
The whole pool area is enclosed with wooden fencing, complying with the new
french pool legislation.
Helping the farmer
Guests
are welcome to help on the farm, feeding
chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits, goats, sheep & cows. Helping
at lambing times, milking the goats, collecting eggs or
haymaking - See our photo gallery.
We have a wide
range of animals, ideal entertainment for the whole
family. The youngest children enjoy opening up the hatch & retrieving
a newly laid egg, then eating it. Our chickens are
also kept for meat, so to are the rabbits, ducks, pigs & sheep.
The goats & cows
double up as a milk supply for the pigs & the house.
We keep all our animals as free range as practically
possible & try
to be as organic as we can.
Pony & trap
rides
Our pony & trap and other horses can give the whole family an
outing to the next village to discover some of the history and roman
remains of the
region.
Children's
Play Area
Swings, slide, sand pit, buckets & spades, seesaw for tiddlers and
a seesaw for adults - it's all here to play with.
Boules Court & Table Tennis
So
you can feel you are on holiday in France and to comply with french tradition,
we have a basic boules court complete with boules! GOOD LUCK.
Also as a summer holiday activity, we have a table tennis table for you
to use.
Bike Hire & Cycle routes
For those of you wanting to get further a field, we have bikes to hire of all sizes (child seats too); ideal for the whole family's entertainment, saving the bother of bringing your own. We can give you a map & recommend local roads to take. Quiet well signposted country lanes, travelled by a few tractors & cars, provide a change from city cycling.
Lazy
Summer Evenings

During the high season, twice a week we hold social
evenings and barbecues alternated with "Dish of the Day".
All holiday makers have the chance of eating & drinking together,
recapping on their visits, experiences and
swapping ideas. The children put on entertainment and challenge the adults
to a game of rounders - just played before a late night swim.
